29th July 1865
A cynical report on the general election results of that year. There had been many column inches of coverage over many months and much vehement comment in the letters to the Editor, largely based on Sir John Simeon's Catholicism. In the end the candidate was returned to Parliament following a turnout of just 1537 eligible voters.

25th November 1865
High seas at Freshwater Bay, though the Quay and Bridge-road refer to Yarmouth. Not surprisingly, the following month there were calls for a new sea wall at The Bay.

25th February 1865
A poor review for All Saints Church!
